AMATEUR SWIMMING.

OTAGO CENTRE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otago Swimming Centre was held last night, Mr J. L. MTndoe in the chair. There were also present: Messrs 0. B. Lewis, D. Bannatyne, P. G. Priest, ,W. Jenkins, E. C. Isaacs, A. R. Knights, E. G. James, and A, Greig. ■ The secretary of the Kjwi Swimming Club wrote forwarding a programme for .the club’s forthcoming carnival.—The programme wae, approved, subject to the alteration of the distance for the Breaststroke Handicap being altered from 6G 2-3 yards to 100 yards. The club’s delegates agreed to this. A letter was received from the Wellington Centre asking that the Otago Centre support waiving the rule in regard to only four swimmers starting in the final of the 100 Yards National Championship —lt was decided to support the Welling ton Centre’s suggestion. Advice was received from, the secretary of the New Zealand Council that the annual conference of centres would be belt! at Wellington on February 4. — Messrs J L. MTndoe and C. B. Lewis were appointed delegates from the Otago Centre. The following officials were nominated to act at the New Zealand championship, meeting:—Messrs -A, R. Knights (competitors steward!, P. N. Rundle (swimming judge), J. L. MTndoe (diving judge). ■
