VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. , ENGLISH PLAYERS BEATEN. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—copyright. i MELBOURNE, December 7. The English lawn tennis players fared badly in the quarter finals of the Victorian championships, Gregory being the only player who was not eliminated. Hopmiin beat the English champion, Austin, ii —O, 2 —o, 6—-4, while Collins and Higgs defeated by Schlesinger and Crawford respectively. Gregory, beat Willard in straight sots. The Englishmen lost all the doubles matches.
