MANIOTOTO HOSPITAL BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Mauiototo Hospital Board was held on Monday evening, and was attended by Messrs H. W. David (chairman), W. Smith, F. Field, T. C. Hore, and J. Smith. There was a fairly large budget of correspondence, dealing principally with the financial affairs of ex-patients._ Notice was sent to the Otago Board intimating that it was intended to claim for the maintenance of several patients from that district. Nurse A. MTnncs, of Dunedin, wrote accepting a position on the staff. The doctor’s report showed that at the date of the last return there were 10 males and three females in the hospital, and seven males and 12 females had since been admitted, making the total treated 32. Eight males and 10 females had been discharged, and one female had died, leaving nine and four respectively under treatment. Four babies were born in the hospital during the month. Accounts amounting to £420 Is were recommended for payment. Mr W. Smith’s notice of motion iu reference to a dispute oyer some newspaper correspondence by him, and criticism thereof by the doctor in his report, was adjourned for a month.
