iFrom Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, July 28. HEAVY PRODUCING COW. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Stirling herd-testing group last night, Mr Gordon Fairbairn (the group tester) said there was one cow in the district that filled a four-gallon bucket at the morning milking; in other words the animal produced 421 b of milk each morning and 361 b at each evening milking. It was a Shortborn-Friesian cross, and the biggest producer of milk in the group. PRESENTATION OF FOOTBALL TROPHIES. At the South Otago High School yesterday afternoon a concert was held, at which the trophies won by the football team in the South Otago Third Grade competitions were presented. Mr R. A. Brewer presented _ the cup for the Third Grade championship and Mr J. D. Landels the medals for the seven-a-side tournament. Both speakers praised the team for its good football and sportsmanship. The captain (Norman M'Millan) briefly acknowledged the presentations, and said he hoped the team would always keep on top, and at the same time “ play the game.”
