PALMERSTON NOTES.
{From Odr Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, July 28. CONCERT AT DUNBACK. A very successful concept was held in the Public Hall at Dunback in aid of the Lawn Tennis Club fund. The president (Mr E. Kelly) expressed great pleasure at seeing such a full house. The object, he stated, was to raise funds for the cementing of two courts on the land adjoining the Domain, presented by Mrs Chapman, of “ The Grange,” Dunback. A pianoforte solo by Miss Wath, ably executed, opened the proceedings. Songs were rendered by Mesdames Robson arid Cousins, . Misses Wilson and Herd, Dr Thomas, Messrs Snell and Kelly; cornet solos bi; the Rev. Mr Rattray; and Miss A. Moodie gave recitations. The Misses Watt, Thomas, Murray and Mr Robson accompanied the singers. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded those taking part. An enjoyable dance followed, the music for which was supplied by Mr Smith’s orchestra, and Messrs G. Glover and W. Campbell acted as M.C.’s.
