ITALY AND AUSTRIA

AN EXCHANGE OF NOTES. RELATIONS RESUMED. (United Press Association.) CBy Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) ROME, July 2. (Received July 3, at 9 p.m.) A communique announces that Signor Mussolini and Dr Seipel recently exchanged messages, in which Dr Seipel declared that Austria always considered that the Adige was Italy’s affair, and that the inhabitants of the Upper Adige should solely communicate with Rome. He added that responsible Austrians had always been careful not to interfere with Italy’s domestic policy, and had not participated in or encouraged the antiItalian demonstrations, and they would continue that attitude. Signor Mussolini thereupon ordered the Italian Minister at Vienna to resume diplomatic relations. —Australian Press Association —United Service.
