(Received July 2, at 7.25 p.m.) With reference to the appointment of King Alfonso as a Field-Marshal of this British army, it is interesting to note that the only other foreign sovereign who holds this rank is the King of the Belgians. Marshal Foch shares with these two monarchs the honour of holding this rank. King Alfonso had. previously held the rank of general in the British army.
