FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

FORESTERS. The C.R., Bro. Ross, presided over a very largo attendance of members at the half-yearly meeting of Court King Edward's Pride, held on Thursday last. During the evening the membership was increased by one member being initiated, while the proposition of six candidates augurs well for a further increase in the near future. A visit was paid to the court by the D.C.R., Bro. Vercoe, and he expressed his appreciation of the improvement in the work of the officers and the general progress of the court. The usual toast to the members who fell in the Great War was very impressively rendered by him. After the conclusion of the business the brothers entertained the sisters at dancing. HIBERNIAN CLUB. A very large attendance of club members was, in the absence of the president, presided over by Mr A. J. Dowling, when readings from popular authors, together with elocutionary items, were given by the members. The meeting also marked the conclusion of a successful half-year’s work.
