CHRISTCHURCH, July 2. It is rumoured that there is to be a repetition in the Association football world here of the recent trouble with the Thistle Club in Auckland. The Nomads, one of the leading clubs in Canterbury, have threatened to withdraw over a matter which appears to be trivial—namely, barracking. The position is that over a matter of etiquette the Canterbury Football Association had reason to make certain comments. To this the Nomads Club has taken exception, and the threatened schism is the result. The position looks hopeless, as the Nomads are evidently determined to maintain their attitude and the Canterbury Football Association will not modify its attitude. THE AUCKLAND DISPUTE. RIVAL ASSOCIATION FORMED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 2. As the result of the recent dispute between the Auckland Football Association and the Thistle Club a well-attended meeting convened by the latter club tonight decided to form a separate association known as the Auckland City and Suburban Association. It was decided to make direct application for affiliation to the Scottish Football Association. It was stated that two clubs each with two teams were prepared to make a start next Saturday.
