In the fourth round of the mixed doubles Godfree and Miss Ryan beat Bmnie and Mrs O’Hara Wood, 6—4, 6—2; Hawkes and Miss Boyd beat Scroope and Miss Busby, 6—2, 6—4. In the Davis Cup third round Timmer (Holland) beat Matejka (Austria), 2—6, 57, 6—o, 6—3, 6—4; Diemerkool (Holland) beat Artens (Austria), 6—3, 4—6, 6 3—6, 6-0. Froitzheim, 6—4, 4—6, 6—o, retired owing to an injured tendon of his foot. Cortrees and Eames beat Rieinschorth and Prenz, 7—5, 6 —2, 6—4.
