NORGROVE’S REPRIEVE.
DISAPPROVED BY RELATIVES. REPRESENTATIONS TO PRIME MINISTER. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 4. The relatives of the late Erncstina Mary Norgrove (the murdered woman) waited on the Prime Minister (Mr J. G. Coates) to-day to represent their opposition to the decision arrived at on Saturday by the Executive Council to reprieve Alan George Norgrove (the murderer of his deceased brother’s widow). THE LAW OF THE JUNGLE. (Per United Press Association.) HAMILTON. June 4. Commenting on the reprieve of the murderer Norgrove at a Methodist Church service last night, the Rev. Perry Paris said: ‘‘We should all bo grateful for Cabinet’s act of mercy. T fee! certain it: is not according to Christ's spirit or teaching that wo should ever take the life of a man because he has taken the life of another. That is the law of the jungle, which Jesus repudiated.
