(Received Feb. 19. at 5.5 p.m.) The body of a girl, Elaine Green, was discovered on a vacant piece of land at Merrickville with her throat fatally cut. The girl’s parents have been living apart. Last night the father visited the house n a most excited state, and, after a heated discussion with his wife, took the girl away. Later he returned and said little Elaine was now out of trouble. He produced a razor and a bottle of chlorodyne and said he was also going to finish himself. Ho then disanpeared. The police are still searching for him. GREEN COMMITS SUICIDE. SYDNEY, February 19. (Received Feb. 20, at 1.20 a.ra.)

After an all-night search the police found Green in a suburban oark weak from loss of blood from a deep -ash in his arm. As they approached him Green drew a bottle of Lysol from his pocket and drank the contents. Before he died an hour later he confessed that he killed Elaine in order to save her from a life of misery.
