LONG ARM OF THE LAW.

EIGHTEEN YEARS’ OLD CRIME. ACCUSED IDENTIFIED IN COURT. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 10. John Sullivan, alias Joseph O’Keefe, aged 48, who is at present serving a sentence of seven years for manslaughter, was committed for trial this morning on an 18-year-old crime. He pleaded not guilty to stealing at Kinahoku, in January, 1910 a black' gelding and harness, of a total value of £lO ss. It was alleged that the accused hired the horse to attend a court case at Kawhia, and that he later sold tho animal, the owner seeing no more of Sullivan until he identified him in court to-day.
