The Kurow is to leave Auckland about February 7 with general cargo for discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. The Breeze is due here this morning from Lyttelton to discharge and load general cargo. She Is to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Storm -is due at Dunedin on Thursday from Lyttelton to toad general cargo for wayports and Wangtntti. The Gale has been fixed to load at Dunedin on February 6 for Tiraaru, Lyttelton, Wellington. The steamer Haleric arrived at Aucalan , on Sunday night from Java with a cargo of raw sugar. ■ The Canadian Prospector is to leave Napier to-day for Auckland to comnlote loading tor Few York, Boston and Halifax. The steamer Indianola is due at Auckland about February 12 from Casa Blanca, Morocco, with a full cargo of phosphates tor Auckland and Lvftelion. She passed through the Suez canal on January 11. The Federal Company advises that the Middlesex, which was due at Auckland on Sunday from London, on completion of discharge at New Plymouth will commence loading at the Taranaki pert Hr United States' ports, London, Avonraouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. The vessel will subsequently load also n; Wanganui roadstead, Wellington. Napier and Auckland, and will sail finally from Auckland on March 10. The Richardson Line’s new steamer iukeko iq to leave Glasgow about the end of January for Napier. The vessel is similar in design but larger than the company’s steamer Pakura, and will be utilised in tbe Aucklanacast coast bays cargo service. The directors of the Suez canal company have decided that, as from April 1 next, a reduction of 25 centimes shall be m?de tn the transit dues, which will therefore be reduced for loaded ships to 7fr and for ships in ballast to 4.50 fr per ton.

THE MANCHESTER MERCHANT. Messrs J. W. Swift and Co- advise that the C. and D. Line’s chartered steamer Manchester Merchant is due at Dunedin this morning from New York, via northern ports, to discharge the remainder of her American cargo. The vessel will sail to-morrow for Westport, where her bunkers will be replenished. CUMBERLAND TO LOAD. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Cumberland is due at Port Chalmers about February 20 from northern ports to load wool for the United Kingdom and Continent. The vessel will sail finally from this port about February 22 for London, via Panama. ARAWA PROM LIVERPOOL. The Shaw, Saviil. and Albion Company advises that the Arawa arrived at Wellington yesterday from Liverpool, via Auckland, to continue discharging Home cargo. She is to leave Wellington about Thursday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete dls'barge. The vessel is expected at this port about February 7. C. AND D. LINE STEAMERS TO LOAD. The C. ana D. L*ne advises that the Port Melbourne was due at Napier yesterday from Port Kcmbla to commence loading for London. The vessel will subsequently load also at Waikokopu, Gisborne, and other New Zealand ports. „ . . , . The Port Bowen has been fixed to load on the New Zealand coast towards the end of February for London and West of England ports. She is to sail finally from Auckland on March 2. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL. The Federal Lino advises that the Turaklna is scheduled to leave Liverpool on March 3 with general cargo fot discharge at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel should arrive at Auckland about April 3. NEWCASTLE COAL SHIPMENTS. Tbe quantity of coal (Including bunkers) shipped at Newcastle during the week ended January 13 for planes beyond the State was 44,075 tons, of which 37,075 tons represented shipments for Commonwealth and New .Zealand ports, the remainder being for foreign ports. A contract has been placed by Imperial Oil, Ltd., of Toronto, Canada, with the Furness Shipbuilding Company, Ltd., Haverton Hill-oh-Tees, foi an oil tanker with a carrying capacity of 16,000 tons d.w. She will be 520 ft in length b.p. by 70ft beam bv 3Sft 9in moulded depth, and Is to be built on the “ Bracketless ” system. The propelling machinery will consist of t«vlnsreew six-cylinder Diesel engines. Ail auxiliaries In the engine room and on deck will be electrically operated, power to be supplied by three generators driven by Diesel engines. TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The Union Company announces the following movements of vessels engaged in me transpacific cargo service : Waikawa, from British Columbia ports, was expected to leave San Francisco cn January 29 for Los Angeles, to complete lending for Papeete, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth. Waitemeta, from Sydney, via Suva, was due at Vancouver on January 26. She proceeds tiience to San Francisco and Los Angeles to complete loading for Apia, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. Wairuna, from Melbourne, was due at Beauty Point on January 27. She proceeds thence to Sydney on the 28th met, to complete discharge of her Inward cargo. Hauraki was expected to clear San brancisco on January 29 for Auckland, Wellington; Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. She is due at Auckland about February 19.
