SIR BENJAMIN FULLER IN DUNEDIN. NEW THEATRE ARRANGEMENTS. GEORGE ROBEY TOUR PROJECTED. That Sir Benjamin Fuller has faith m the future of his old home town, Dunedin, is shown by the fact that he is at present in this city considering the possi bilities of a reconstruction of the Princess Theatre or of the building of an entire j new theatre if a suitable site can be oOta.ined. "We have not decided yet. what is to be done.” Sir Benjamin told a Daily Times reporter last night, ” oat I expect that the work—whether it is rebuilding or reconstructing—will be coni menced in a few weeks’ time. I feel confident that the venture will be rewarded with success, for this town is going ahead. There is no doubt about that” You are getting good prices for wool and butter, for one tiling. The work we propose to undertake will also give employment to many men who ire out of work now.”
Sir Benjamin states that his firm has engaged Elsie Prince and Jimmie Godden to open their New Zealand tour in “ Archie ” in Dunedin at Easter time. The company will arrive here direct from Sydney. Most Now Zealand people have heard of the famous George Robey and his equally famous eyebrows, and it will there fore be of more than passing interest to them to learn that Mr John Fuller is at present negotiating with Robey for • tour of Australia and New Zealand in “ Bits and Pieces.” which has been touring South Africa lately. Marie Blanche is his leading lady. Robey, by the way, is a B.A. of Cambridge University.
