BRANCH LEAGUE OF MOTHERS FORMED.
(From Otra Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, November 30. Mrs Norfh, president of the Dunedin League of Mothers, addressed a very representative meeting of ladies in Balclutha this afternoon. The Mayoress (Mrs S. V. White) occupied the chair. Mrs North gave an inspiring address on the objects of the league, and road a message from Lady Alice Fcrgusson expressing the hope that a branch would bo formed in Balclutha, and wishing it every success. The primary object of the league is to advance and safeguard the welfare of the children, ■with a view to making them better citizens. It was decided to form a'Balclutha branch, and the following office-bearers were elected: —President, Mrs John Reid; vicepresidents—Mrs J. C. Anderson and Mrs E. Russell; secretary, Mrs D. McDonald; committee —Mcsdnmcs Hcdley White Pearson, Green, Hutchins, Brown, and D. Willocks. The mooting was a very enthusiastic one, auguring well for the success of the branch.
