CLUTHA AND MATAU A. AND P. SOCIETY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, August 29. At a well attended meeting of the committee of the Clutha and Matau A. and P Society on Saturday night Mr P. Bovd occupied tho chair, in the absence of the president (Mr R. Moffat). A letter was read from the secretary of the local High School Board to the effect that the board had decided not to include an agricultural course in tho school curriculum, as requested by tho society.— On tho motion of Messrs W. E. and A. IT. Moffat it was decided to express regret that tho board had not seen fit to omoly with the request. Tho final revision of tho schedule was held over. , , Tho following wore elected new members:—Messrs W. Welsh (Pnkepito), A. J. Hcnderson, R, Chalmers, William Carter, and Mrs J. H. Stephens (Balclutha).
