STRANDED STEAMER
TASMAN IN NO DANGER. (Prcu Assoolation—By Telegraph—Copyright.) BRISBANE, May 3. The passengers are remaining on board the Tasman. Fine weather and a smooth sea ar© being experienced. As the Tasman is in no immediate danger, and as she was unable to render assistance owing to insufficient depth of water, the steamer Houtman resumed her voyage. The Tasman carries 3000 tons of cargo, consisting mostly of kapok, tea, and fibre. A portion of this, in order to lighten her, may have to be transhipped to the steamer Vand De Wyck, which has left Batavia for the scene of the stranding. The passengers will also he transhipped if necessary.—A- and N.Z, Cable. .SYDNEY, May 3.
