THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. (Special to Bails Times.) WELLINGTON, May 3. The monthly meeting of the council of tho New Zealand Golf Association was held to-day, r -Correspondence with the Hamilton Golf Club was before the council on the question of the date of the championship tournament, and in view of the club’s latest advice that it will accept any date fixed by tho council it was decided that tho open championship and qualifying rounds should bo played on September 2 and 3, , the tournament concluding on Saturday, j September 10. I The Chairman brought up the question of playing championship foursomes ririor to the qualifying rounds, and offered to give two cups—one for arnetcqrs and one for professionals—together with four miniatures for the winners.—lt was resolved to accept Mr Kirk’s offer and to play the events oe Wednesday. August 31. They will consist • of 36 holes stroke play. ST. CLAIR LADIES’ CLUB.
