STRATH TAIERI COLLIE CLUB.
The twenty-first annual trials of the Strath Taieri Collie Club were held on the property of Mr A. M’Kinnon, Pro® l " dent of the club, who ' - supplied the sheep. As the occas s its twentyfirst birthday, the clul ’"d to present gold medals to the wim. in each eyent. Mr W. Moynihan presented the medal tor the driving event. The judging was in the capable hands of the Hon. R. Scott, whose decisions met with general satisfaction. Mr Scott also acted as judge at tho first trials of the club held 21 years ago. The following are the results of the various events: — MAIDEN HEAD. Pull and hold in ring. Twenty-three entries. F. Golightly’s Moss, 44 points .... 1 A. Matheaon’s Ben, 38 points 2 F. M’Rae’s Star, 37 points 3 DRIVING AND YARDING. Twenty-two entries. J. Heffernan’s Spot, 37 points .. .. 1 A. Matheson’s Ben, 36 points 2 A. MacMillan’s Sharp, 33 points .... 3 OPEN HEAD. Pull and yard. Seventeen entries. A. Matheson’g Tweed, 47 points .. . 1 C. MacErlane’s Star, 45 points .... 2 J. Heffernan’s Spot, 38 points ...... 3 MAIDEN HUNTAWAY. Eight entries. A. Matheson’s Tim, 48 points 1 W. G. Thompson’s Ray, 34 points .. 2 A. Mnthcson’e Tyke, 33 points 3 OPEN HUNTAWAY. Thirteen entries. C. MacErlane’s Romp, 51 points .... 1 C’ MacErlane’s Mick, 49 points .... 2 A. Matheson’s Tint, 48 points 3 LADIES. Head, pull, and hold in ring. Mrs Docherty’e Pip, 33 points .... 1 Miss R.
