WAIMATE COLLIE CLUB.

Windy weather prevailed during tho trials held by the Waimate Collie Dog Club last week, and the conditions undei which tho dogs were worked wore most unpleasant. Mr M. L. Elliot, of Glenavy, was the judge, and his decisions were popular. The trials were held on Mr E. C. Stndholme’s To Waimate estate, the sheep being supplied by Mr William Black, of Waihaoringa. The following were the results: — CLASS I— HEAD, BRING BACK, AND HOLD IN RING. Mr J. Smillio’s Natty, 36 points 1 Mr E. Davis’s Tara Jack, 34 points ... 2 Mr M. A. Fraser’s Raid, 33 points ... 0 Mr J. Anderson’s Toby, 32 points - 4 WINNERS OF MAIDEN EVENTS. Mr E Dnstan’s Chance Junior, 29 points 1 Air Wm. Fraser’s Scott, 28 points ... 2 Mr J. Smillio’s Natty also won first district competitor’s prize. JUDGE’S REMARKS.

Natty cast to right, went out freely on a good line, but a little wide before heading. He pulled well in good lino ana held well in ring. , . , Tara J nek cast to tbq right and wont out freely on a good line. He made a nice head. He pulled a little jerkily, but made a good line to tho ring. Raid cast to the left, made a fair run out, a good line, and finished a good head. He lifted nicely, but allowed the sheep to go wide to tho left before reaching the rl Toby cast to tho right and went out on a fair line. Ho made a good head and pulled steadily on a good lino. Holding well in tho ring. • Chance Junior oast to the right, zigzagged out, and made a rather close head. He pulled an indifferent line, but held in ring fair. Scott cost to the left and ran out an indifferent line. He made a rather wide read. He made a fair pull; his nng work -was firm. CLASS lI—HEAD, BRING BACK, AND YARD. Mr C. Mr A. Aubrey’s cup for winner of Class IV was won by Mr R. Smyth. Mr E. Davis’s cup for mustering team of two huntaway dogs and one heading dog was won by Mr A. Aubrey. Mr C. Parker won the club’s cup for the highest aggregate in Classes I, 11, and 111. The stepping competition was won by Mr W, Fraser (Hakataramea), and Mr F. Corrigal (Hakataramea) won the sheep guessing competition.
