The Auckland Grammar School has gained the right to hold the Heathcotc-Wil-Jiams Shield for the third successive year by defeating the Christchurch Boys’ Hi gn School by 122 runs. Heavy rain had made the wicket dead and the bowlers could get little assistance from it. Grammar, with a first innings lead of 52. carried their second innings score to 204. Fraser made 56 by powerful driving, and Whitolaw also batted soundly. The challengers, requiring to score 257 mns in four hours, made only 134 this being chiefly due.to the batting of Henry (24) and Escott (28 not out).
