ITALY AND GERMANY

A TREATY OF ARBITRATION. ;Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 1 10. (Received Dec. 10, at 10 p.m.) It is reported from Geneva that the Italo-German treaty will probably be signed by Dr Stresemann and Signor, Scialoja, before the end of the session of the Council. Dr Stresemann declined an invitation from Signor Mussolini to visit Rome tor the purpose of signature, fearing that such action might be misinterpreted. In the meantime he has assured M. Briand that the treaty is a simple one of arbitration, and is devoid of any other political significance.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
