OTAGO BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL. The annual match between the Past and Present Boys of the Otago Boys High School wms played on the School green yesterday in the presence of a large number of pupils and ex-pupils of the school. The Present Boys opened the batting with Cherry and Smith. 'The former did not last long, being smartly stumped by Allan. His place was taken by Priest, who also fell a victim to Alloo, who had the batsmen troubed. Smith was batting very steadily, and witnessed the departure of Moloney, Drew, and Jolly before he was run out through a misunderstanding with Beasley. Beasley batted well for his total, and was bowled by Barr with a good ball. The remaining batsmen failed to make a stand, the innings closing for 87 runs. Barr and Leader opened the batting for the Old Boys, Barr contributing a lively 11 before he was clean bowled by Moloney. Allan, M'Leod, Satterthwaite, and M'Rae all failed to get going to any appreciable extent. Alloo and Latimer then became associated, the former scoring quickly with vigorous shots, Latimer batting steadily in the meantime. Blyth, however, bowled the latter just when he was beginning to look comfortable. His place was taken by Kerr, who was content to keep his wicket intact while Alloo was scoring. The latter, however, was bowled by Blyth after contributing an invaluable 40 to the Old Boys’ total. The Old Boys then required 16 runs to win, with two wickets to fall. Hofland filled the vacancy and scored 12 runs by good play before being dismissed when the scores were equal. Robinson then joined Kerr, and after playing three or four balls he quietly scored the winning shot by cutting Drew to the boundary. The innings closed soon afterwards, Kerr being caught by Priest in the long field off the last over of the day. The following were the scores:— PRESENT BOYS. Cherry, st.
