THE ROYAL TOUR

SOUTHERN ITINERARY. SLIGHT AMENDMENTS ANNOUNCED (Fes United Fress Association.) AUCKLAND, December 6, His Excellency the Governor-General ia advised that the southern itinerary of the Duke of York has been slightly amended, the rearrangement being due to the desire to make that portion of the tour a little less arduous than would have been possible under the original programme, which provided that the Royal party should spend the night of Thursday, March 10, at Greymouth. This meant crowding into one day events now spread over March 11 as well. On the visit to the Southern Lakes, Sunday, March 20, will be spent at Pembroke, instead of Queenstown, where the party will remain overnight on March 21, after, a day on Lake Wakatipu, the proposed trip to Kingston being deleted. Finally, on Tuesday, March 22, thejiarty will proceed direct from Queensfown to Bluff. Formerly it had been proposed to spend the night of March 21 at Invercargill, but the new arrangement provides that the train shall merely stop for a time at Invercargill on the journey to Bluff on Tuesday.
