Riddell S.M. ;—‘‘l have the honour to acknowledge the receipt this morning of formal notice that you, at the request ot the Honourable the Minister of Justice, will hold an inquiry at the Police Court on Tuesday, November 23, into certain allegations relating to the _ treatment of Sydney Erne Baumo whilst in the Terrace Gaol. With all due deference to yourself, I desire to intimate that for reasons already stated by me in interviews given to tho press I will not appear at the inquiry.”
