MONEY DISAPPEARS.
A MYSTERIOUS OCCURRENCE, (Pee United Pbess Association.) PALMERSTON N., September 27. The eum of £220 in notea made up for banking mysteriously disappeared from behind the counter of the municipal public offices one day last week. The statement of a cashier is that whilst he was absent for a moment from the counter where the money was, a thud was heard in the pubho office. and a strange man was found behind the counter, and that he made off when left alone for » moment. The detectives are investigaling.
