IMPROVEMENT EFFECTED. (Psr United - bsss Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 27. At Akaroa, on Saturday, the Hon. G. J. Anderson said the Government had turned its attention to improving old historical burial grounds, and the graves of men who fell during the Maori Wars. An example of this work was to bo seen at Rangiriri, in the Waikato district, where one of the heaviest engagements was fought, oimi la r work had been carried out at Ohawe, near Hawera; also at Russel! and in the Esmonds street cemetery, Auckland.
