■ ■ INSUFFICIENT ENGINE WHISTLING. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. September 25. A brief discussion took place at the annual meeting of the South Wand Motor Union yesterday regarding the blowing of whistles by drivers of engines on railway trains. A motion was carried asking the Government to make more adequate provision in this connection. In seconding the motion Mr F. >v. Johnston expressed the view that a great deal of good would he done, and many accidents avoided if engine-drivers we W to renew their Marts 230yds and 100yds from the crossing.
