NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN

AN UNENTHUSLCSTIC RECEPTION, j(Tress Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, September 25. (Received Sept. 24, at 10 p.m.) The New South Wales loan of £4,000,000 at 5 per cent, is redeemable between 1945 and 1965. The final instalment of 50 per cent, is payable on January 1. 1927, and the first interest payment is due in six months—namely, on June 1. The Financial Times says that, the New South Wales issue is not welcomed at the present juncture. There is a general feeling that its prospects would have been better if it had been held over until there were signs of a coal settlement. The Financial News says that the issue has had a depressing effect on recent colonial scrips, particularly Australian. Most of the financial writers comment on the brief interval since the previous loan.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
