(Received Sept. 23, at 5.5 p.m.) At a court-martial arising out of the Graeco-Bulgarian frontier, trouble on October 21 last year the Greek military governor stated that while the fighting was progressing he sent an officer to the rebels with a message appealing to them to surrender and prevent bloodshed. The rebels not only refused to take any notice of the message, but killed the messenger.— A. and N.Z. Cable. Following a demand for satisfaction for the murder of an officer, Greek troops crossed the Bulgarian border on October 21 last year and a clash with Bulgarian troops resulted. An inquiry into the incident was held by the League of Nations, which found that the incursion was unwarranted, and ordered Greece to pay an indemnity to Bulgaria.
