BALMACEWEN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Balmacewen Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet Club was held in the pavilion on Tuesday evening last, when there was a large attendance of members. Mr I>. Bennie (the president) occupied the chair. The balance sheet showed that the total receipts for the year from ail sources amounted to £397 5a 9d, and the expenditure to £404 10s Bd, leaving a debit balance of £7 4s Id, which increased the amount. of the bank overdraft. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr Rigby; secretary, Mr E. H. Allen; treasurer. Mr C. Grater; auditor. Mr P. L, Clark. Sectional Office-bearers.—Bowling section : Vice-president, Mr A. Rigby; secretary, Mr J. Buchan; committee—Messrs Millin, Melville. Morrison, and Stables: selectors— Messrs Stables, Bennie, and King; ChibTie Committee —Messrs Buchan, Lambeth, and Ferguson. Billiard Committee.—Messrs Lambeth, Hindle, G. Adamson, Buchan, and Bennie. Tennis Section.—Vice-president, Mr S. N. Brown, sen.; secretary, Mr A. M‘Miilau ; committee —Messrs Cummin? Garden, Smith, and Seymour; delegates to Otago Lawn Tennis Association. —Messrs S. N. Brown, pin., and A. M’Millan. Croquet Section. —Vice-president, Mr J. Nisbet; secretary, Mr Nisbet; committee —Mesdames Ferguson, MTntosh. and M'Donald, and Miss Phinn. The special resolution submitted to the meeting by the General Committee—viz.: “That Mr* W. Wright be elected a life member as a recognition of her husband's services to the club in particular, and to bowling generally,” was carried unanimously. The followin' 1, motion was also carried unanimously-. -“That this meeting of bowlers, tennis plavers. pod croouef players regrets the action of the Legislative Council in refecting the Summer Time Bill, and hopes that the Bill will become law next session.’’
