The executive also recommended that the City Council and Railways Department bo asked to make the necessary arrangements for the conveyance of stock over the Ocean Beach line, and that to ensure that green feed bo fairly distributed at the show, that a place be allocated to hold the feed and that a special man be appointed in charge.—The report was adopted. when tho present improvements were completed the buildings would require no attention for some years, Tho committee also recommended that when granting tho use of Tahuna Park for sports, picnics, etc., that an assurance must bo obtained that no one would be permitted to stand on the seate in the grandstand or damage the buildings, otherwise the the buildings would not be available. —The Grounds Committee’s report was adopted. It was pointed out that under the Racing Club’s regulation the possessor at date of foaling was to be considered the breeder, while some other societies claimed that the date of mating was tho correct definition.—lt was decided that inquiries bo made from other societies, so that a definite ruling could bo made in connection with this important question. The Secretary reported that a framed photograph of tho ship Dunedin and I* lo first shipment of frozen meat leaving Now Zealand hod boon sont to the Otaj?o Larlv Settlers’ Association. The Dunedin arrived at Port Chalmers in November, 1881, but owinir to a break down in the freezing machinery did not leave until Februaiy 15 1882. arriving in tho docks at London on May 24. The secretary of the association thanked the committee for its valuable and important record.
