Air H. P. Lawry, S.M., Robert John Leslie Coleman, a powerful-looking man, was called on to answer two charges arising out of the episode. He was charged with having wilfully damaged a window valued at £lO 10s, the property of Robert Biokerby, and also with having behaved in a threatening manner in a public place. He pleaded guilty to both charges. tom-inspector Mathew said that the man had gone into the billiard room. He had had a few drinks, and was insulting to the young fellow. The latter went out, and so did Coleman, who picked up the other and threw him through the window. Accused had offered to pay 10s a week to make good the damage. Ho was a married man with a small family. On the charge of wilful damage Coleman was fined £5, and ordered to pay the amount of the damage at the rate of £2 a month. On the other charge he was fined £2 and costs, and ordered to pay witnesses’s expenses. He was allowed It days in which to pay this line.
