DIOCESAN ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Diocesan Sunday School Teachers’ Association was held last night. Bishop Richards presided. The annual report referred to the lack of Interest in the association, and stated that only IS schools had Joined. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £l2 Os lOd. The Bishop stated that he regarded the association as one of the most Important organisations In the diocese. It had done excellent work, and he felt that Its duties were being carried out on almost perfect lines. He would like to see a larger number of schools enrol. The Rev. ,T. H. Rogers had been appointed bishop’s chaplain for the development of Sunday school work. One of the reasons for the lack of Interest In the association was probably that the clergy were Inclined to be a little Indifferent. There had been 205 candidates at (he last examination, but he would like to see the number trebled. Ho made appreciative reference to the work of Mr H. C. Jones In delivering lectures to teachers. It was important that teachers should know how to teach in the right way. The Rev. Rogers, In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, stated that by the Joining of Holy Cross Church, the circle of city schools was complete, and It was hoped that country schools would be persuaded to become members of the association. The association hod not finished in the principle of teaching teachers. The council of the Sunday Schools’ Union had helped the association a great deal. The election of office-bearers resulted ns follows—President, (he Rev. .1. H. Rogers, vico-ptesldent, the Rev. A. C. H. Button; secretary. Miss E. M. Blyth; treasurer, the Rev. H. O.
