UNIVERSITY NOTES.
—— NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME. (From Our Own Correspondent.) : LONDON, July 28. Mr C. F. K. Hell (Christchurch) is in London with his father, Mr Robert Bell. It will be remembered that he went to Hertford College, Oxford, about three years ago, to study English Literature. He has now come down from the University, and yesterday his. name appeared in the successful list of names in connection with the Final Honour School of English Language and Literature. Mr Bell'was the only New; Zealander to appear in this list, and he passed with honours. VVhen Mr Bell came from New Zealand to the University it was with the hopes of subsequent!# making journalism his profession. At the beginning of August he will join the literary staff of the Liverpool Post, to which important Lancashire journal he hopes to be attached for some time. Mr S. P. M'Callum. who in 1920 was awarded the special War Rhodes Scholarship, has been appointed demonstrator at Nottingham Univei’sity. Mr K. L. Hill (Auckland), who has been engaged in research at Oxford, is likely to be appointed private secretary to the Bishop of Ripon. Mr W. P. Morrell (Dunedin) has been selected to assist the Beit Professor at Oxford during the coming year. Dr A. H. Kirker, M. 8., New Zealand, has qualified to become a member of the ■■ ... > L'.pio-r. of Phvsicians. In 1924, Dr Kirker was appointed resident medical .> mo „n:ua \ ale Hospital for epilepsy, paralysis, and other disorders of the nervous system. Of the 177 candidates who passed the final examination in medicine, surgery, and midwifery—- ; L.R.C.P.—39 were women.
