SUPREME COURT.

PRISONERS SENTENCED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 16. In the Supreme Court prisoners who had pleaded guilty in the lower court were sentenced by Mr Justice Ostler as follows: — Cyril Alfred 'Spencer, on three charges of theft at Nelson of £133, was sentenced to two years’ probation, on condition that he paid court costs (£2 14s) within one mouth, and made restitution of the £9S still outstanding within six months. John Reginald Ellis, aged 27 years, on two charges of forgery and uttering at Wanganui, and 12 similar charges at Wellington, was ordered reformative detention for a period not exceeding three years.
