THE OTAGO CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION.

ANNUAL MEETING., Tha annual meeting of the Otago Congregational Sunday School Union was held last evening in the United Congregational Sunday School. 'lhe president, Mr Joseph Abernethy, welcomed representatives of the various schools of the district at tea, at the conclusion of which the business meeting was held. A welcome was extended to Mr Miller, the new superintendent of tha Port Chalmers School, and Miss Facer, a new teacher from Ravensbourne, and pleasure was expressed at the presence of two veteran ministers, the Rev. W. Grant and the Rev. A. H Wallace. The election of office-bearers resulted as lollows :—President, Mr Joseph Abernethy (re-elected); vice-president, Rev, H. Finch; hon. treasurer, Miss Clifford; executive — Miss Millin (Moray Place), Miss Laing (United), Miss Montgomery (Port Chalmers), Miss Anderson (Ravensbourne), Miss Hale (Gore); delegates to the Council of Sunday Schools’ Unions, Miss Hale and Mr J. Abernethy. The invitation of the Ravensbourne school to hold the next meeting at Ravensbourne was accepted. The treasurer’s report, showing a gratifying credit balance, was adopted It was decided to arrange for a big missionary pageant, to be held in August, in which all the schools would participate.— The pageant will be' presented at the various schools in turn, and later in connection with the Congregational Union meetings in March next. On account of the pageant it was decided not to hold the usual annual examination. It was decided to record in the minutes warm appreciation of the services of Miss Vera Hall, who was resigning from the position of secretary. A vote of thanks to the teachers of the United school and the hosts of the evening was carried. and the meeting closed with devotional exorcises.
