MOTORIST HEAVILY FINED. COLLISION WHILE INTOXICATED. (Pep United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 20. “One or two” shandies consumed by Charles Hoy Stanley, aged 40 years, on Thursday last proved exceedingly expensive for him. This morning at the Police Court Mr F. K. Hunt, S-.M., fined him £SO. In addition, as his counsel put it, Stanley will have to pay for his own car and the one that he collided with in Eden terrace, both cars being absolutely wrecked. Stanley was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of n motor car, and the Magistrate cancelled his license, but said it would be re-issued when defendant produced a prohibition order against himself.
