Bardsley, Oldfield, Ryder, Everett and Grimmett are omitted from the Australian team. Owing to rain there was no play before lunch. Morris, who was originally selected for Essex, has been commandeered by tha War Office.—Reuter. PLAY ABANDONED FOR DAY. LONDON, May 5. Adverse weather compelled the abandonment of the idea of play for the day. The wicket is covered, and is in excellent condition. The outfield is wet, but not soft.
