GOOD TEMPLARS.
GRAND LODGE CONCLUDED. Tho Grand Lodge International Order of Good Templars was continued in Slade Hall on Wednesday, Hro. W. A. Ilea (Grand Counsellor) presided in the absence of Hro. Dalton (Grand Chief Templar). A vote of sympathy and condolence wa3 passed with Hro. T. H. Dalton, who received word shortly before the morning session of the passing of his brother at Ashburton. Reports from auditors, the State of Order Committee, and a special committee were received and adopted. A large amount of business was transacted during the day, and the attendance was well maintained. Votes of thanks were, passed to the local Reception Committee Vfor the excellent manner in which it mid entertained the visitors during their stay) Hro. E. South, deputy-chairman of the Reception Committee, and Bro. H Gore (District Chief Templar; responded. A vote of t'nanks was passed to the press, the Grand Assistant Secretary, and all the committees for the assistance given during the sessions. Sister Mrs Hctt (Star of Wellington Lodge) extended - the thanks of that lodge for services rendered by the special committee. Tho Grand Lodge was closed by Bro. W. A. lies (Grand Counsellor) and officers. JUVENILE DEMONSTRATION. A Juvenile demonstration was held last evening in the Jubilee Hall, View street, when the juvenile Templars and members o) the. Band of Hope Union were responsible for an excellent piogramme, which included vocal and instrumental items and physical exercises. All tho performances were well received and encores wore frequent. On the platform were Bro. W. J. Trerethick (presiding), and liras. G. W. Andrews sud J. gUton.
