DRUIDISM.
The fortnightly meeting of the Pride of Mornington Lodge was held on Thursday, A.D. Bro. Bartlett presiding over a fair attendance of officers and brethren. An apology was received from the V.A. Bro. MTCewan, who was unable to attend. We had the pleasure of welcoming D.P. Bro. Reid, P.D.P. Bro. Wilson, and Bro. Woodcock.’ Included in the correspondence were two letters from Auckland. _ Bro. E. L. Birt (secretary) gave a very interesting account of the Grand Lodge visit to the new lodge in Mataura. The usual toasts were duly honoured and responded to by the visitors. . , The regular meeting of All Nations Lodge was presided over by A.D. Bro. M’Konzio. The usual routine business was duly carried out, and sick pay was passed for payment. It was decided to accept West Harbour s challenge to compete for the Euchre Shield. It was also decided to run monthly old-time dances during the winter months. A letter of sympathy was forwarded to a brother who had suffered the loss of his father, A.D. Bro. Cursey presided over the meeting of Enterprise Lodge, and there was a good attendance. Three members were duly initiated, the ceremony being well carried out. P.D.P. Bro. Ockwell resigned his position as Grand Lodge representative, and P.D.P. Bro. S. A. Workman was appointed in his place. The star item of the evening was a sealed handicap competition for the best rendering of the V.A. charge. There were 10 competitors, and all gave good renderings. The winner proved to bo Bro. S. A. Workman, who, giving away 10 points handicap, narrowly defeated his father, Bro. A. T. Workman, by 1 point. The prize, donated by the A.D. Bro. Cursey, was duly presented to the winner, who generously handed it over to the Syllabus Committee. It was also decided to pay the Bay Lodge for the Euchre shield at the next meeting. Welcome visitors were P.D.P. Bro. Ruston and P.A. Bro. Bartlett. Bay Lodge held its fortnightly meeting on Tuesday last, when A.D. Bro. Napier presided over a fair ’mher of members. Mistletoe Lodge pa : 1 an official visit, and was received with musical honours. Bro. D. Reid, D.P., of To. 2 District, paid an official visit and was received with the usual honours due to his office. Lengthy correspondence was dealt with, including the Grand Lodge order paper, each remit being well discussed and dealt with in a proper manner. One candidate was proposed bv P.D.P. Bro. Wilson for initiation. During the evening a game of quoits was plavod between sides from the Mistletoe and "Bay Lodtrea, the game resulting in a win for Mistletoe. . During the month the lodge held a Vice Arch charge competition for A.D. Bro. Napier s trophy, the winner being A.D. Bro. A. Cursey, who.gave a splendid rendering. The usual loval toasts were given and responded to by Pro. Smith. D.P., Bro. D. Reid, and Sister Wilson, who was a welcome visitor on behalf of the Queen of the Oak. Christchurch.
