GRANT OF A THOUSAND. LONDON, January 17. (Received Jan. 18, at 12.15 p.m.) The National Union of Seamen has voted the sum of £IOOO to any fund that may be started by the Parliamentary Committee of the Trades Union Congress to go towards the development of the S pah linger treatment for tuberculosis ire order to enable treatment to be brought within the reach of the workers. The secretary of the Union’s Committee said that the idea was to encourage other trade unions to participate in securing Spahlinger treatment for the benefit of all trade unionists. —A. and N.Z.
