THE WEATHER.

A SUDDEN CHANGE. After several days of bright sunshine and summer heat, there was a change in the conditions last evening. Shortly after halfpast five heavy banks of ominuous clouds overspread the sky, and at 6.15 a thunderstorm broke over the city. Several vivid flashes of lightning were followed by kmd paals of thunder, and a torrential downpour. The rainfall, though of short duration, was sufficient to cause the street channels' to carry a full capacity of swiftiyflowing water. The fall will be welcomed by farmers and gardeners after the long spell of dry weather. The sky cleared about half-past seven, and the weather was fine late last night, although heavy clouds floated across the sky.
