The first nine days of 1926 show that the national expenditure exceeded the revenue by approximately £12,226,000, thus increasing tlio deficit to over £125,000,000. The outstanding floating debt on January 9 was over £818,000,000 millions, (which is £18,000,000 less than it was a year ago, but an increase of nearly £76,000,000 compared with the beginning of the current financial year.—Reuter /
