(From Our Own Correspondent.) LAWRENCE, October il. BOWLING AXL LAWN TENNIS. The bowling and lawn tenuis clubs were opened yesterday under pleasant conditions. Instead of the time-honoured game .President v. Vice president watch, games wore indulged ir- hei.-.'een the members and visitors. Mr' r. Marl in (president! iu declining the green open for the season, welcomed . members from th-' Wnitahuua, Dunedin, and Balmatvwen (dubs, and after reviewing his own club’s progress during the year, stated that the opening day augured well for a successful season. The Young People's Bible Classes of the Clntha Sub-union "held a rally and picnic at Mount Stuart yesterday in fine weather. The Rev Mr Hogg (chairman of the Young People's League) presided. Representatives were present, from Lawvci-ce, Waitalutna, Clarkesvi'ie, Milton, and Balclufha, and add resaeSfi were given by the Rev. Mr M’Neur. of Milton, and the‘Rev. Mr Dow, of Lawrence.
