DUNEDIN COURSING CLUB.
SEPTEMBER MEETING. A ten-dog stake was nm off on the Forbury plumpton on Saturday afternoon in weather the reverse of pleasant for the few spectators present. The meeting was conducted by the Dunedin Coursing Club, the stakes being:—Winner, £8; runner-up, £2 ; third dog, £l. Following are the results: First Round. Mr A. Johnstone’s blk d Boyle’s Pride, by Jolly Tar —Our Anthem, beat Mr R. Hair’s blk d Happy Warrior, by Pirate Chief—Mascot. , , Mr J. Mathieeon's f d Isle of Skye, by Sleeve Alley—First Home, beat Mr M. M‘Gregor’s w d Electric Spark, by Electrician—Lady Tuckfield. Mr J. Thomson's blk w d Colonial Boy, by- Jolly Tar —Our Anthem, beat Mr J. Goodman’s blk w d Man o’ War, by Jolly Tar—Loyal I ass. . , Mr T. Lee’s blk d Canadian Mac, by Jack Mac—Norman’s Queen, beat Mr A. Summers’s brd d Wild Flight, by Electrocute —Norman’s Queen. . Master Marks’s blk w d Gatling Gun. by Joliv Tax—Parade, beat Mr W. Millier’s brd w b Queen's Drive, by Daredevil—Queen Bee. Second Round. Isle of Skye beat Boyle’s Pride. Canadian Mac beat Colonal Boy. Gatling Gun, a bye. Semi-final Isld of Skye beat Gatling Gun. Canadian Mao, a by A Final. Isle of Skye beat Canadian Mac. After a no-course, Boyle’s Pride led Happy Warrior four lengths and turned. The hare then turned towards the enclosure, and Boyle’s Pride took charge and drove to covert. Isle of Skye led Electric Spark, wrenched, and turned to covert. Colonial Boy led Man o’ War, wrenched, and turned. A long, gruelling course ensued, the exchanges being about equal. Colonial Boy really winning on the early work done in the course. Canadan Mao led Wild Flight, wrenched, and flecked. Wild Flight turn,ed, wrenched, and Canadian Mac killed. The points were famv even. Gatling Gun led Queen’s Drive and drove to cover, winning on speed. In the second round Isle of Skye led Boyle’s Pride by over a length, and drove to balk. Canadian Mao led Colonial Boy several lengths and won on speed. Catling Gun ran a bye. . , In the semi-final Gatling Gun led in the early stages of the run up, but was passed by Isle of Skye, who drove to covert. Canadian Mac ran a bye. . T , This left the final to be decided by Isle of Skye and Canadian Mac. The course was practically a straight run to rne escapes, Isle of Skye leading and winning on speed.
