The Chelmsford Stakes resulted: Windin' 1, Valamita 2, and Pilliewinkie and Virgin Gold (dead heat) 3. There were 11 starters. Windbag was fifth entering the straight, but at the distance he was running second. He immediately ran to tho front and won comfortably by two lengths from Valamita, who beat Pilliewinkie and Virgin Gold by a neck. Haiera was last. Time, Imin 'slAsec, MOONEE VALLEY STEEPLECHASE. MELBOURNE, September 13. (Received Sept. 13, at 5.5 p.m.) The Mconce Valley Steeplechase resulted: Moogana 1, Welcome Stranger 2, Irish Rufus 3. There were 12 starters. Moogana took charge at the second fei.ee in front of the stand the second time round and cleared the last fence five lengths ahead of the field, eventually winning by five lengths. Time, smin Ssec.
