The Holmdale, which arrived here early on Saturday morning from Wanganui and Wellington, ia to sail to-night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The 'Waikouaiti is expected to leave Sydney to-day with general cargo for discharge at Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru. She should arrive hero about Saturday next. The Wanaka is to leave Auckland to-morrow with general cargo for discharge at Napier, Wellington, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Opihi is expected at Dunedin to-night from Now Plymouth direct to load for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Karori was expected to leave Weetport on Saturday with a cargo of coal for discharge at Oamaru and Dunedin. She is due here towards the end of the week, and after discharge will load general cargo for West port «.tiß Greymouth. The Storm is duo at Dunedin to-morrow from Bluff to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Ulimaroa ia duo at Sydney to-morrow from Auckland. She is timed to leave the New South Wales port on Friday for Wellington, whore she is due on September 22. The Maheno is due at Auckland to-mor-row from Sydney with passengers, mails, and cargo. She is timed to sail at 11 a.m. on Friday on the return voyage. The Canadian Prospector cleared Montreal on August 25 for New Zealand East Coast ports to discharge and to load general cargo for New York, Boston, Montreal, and inland points in the United States and Canada 1 . Tbs Rotorua, from London, sails from Southampton on September 25 for Wellington, where she is due on October 31. Auckland is her next port of call. Having undergone an extensive overhaul at Auckland, the Kaiapoi has been recommissioned. She left the northern port on Friday for Greymouth. . The Kaitangata is expected to leave Adelaide to-day for Devonport and Melbourne to complete loading for Auckland and Wellington. The Waitejnata is due at Vancouver from Suva about September 18. After discharge of her cargo of sugar she is to load at Pacific Coast ports late this month and early next month for Papeete, Napier, and New Plymouth. The Pinna arrived at Auckland on Septtember 5 from Singapore. The vessel discharged about 60,000 cases of oil at Auskland, and she' will put out the remainder (46,000 cases) at Wellington. The Pinna also has a quantity of bulk oil which will probably be discharged at Sydney. WAIKAWA FROM THE' EAST. A wireless message received by the Union Company from the captain of the Waikawa states that the vessel will arrive at the Heads at daybreak to-day from Hobart. After being granted pratiqua-in the lower harbour, the Waikawa will come to Dunedin to discharge a large quantity of assorted freight loaded at Singapore and Samarang, and timber shipped at Bunbury and HobaVt. THE CANADIAN SPINNER. The Canadian Spinner arrived at Auckland yesterday from Montreal, via Panama. She is laden with general Canadian cargo for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The vessel is duo here about September 22. She will load Dominion products at Lyttelton, Dunedin," Wellington and Auckland for New York, Boston, and Montreal. THE VANCOUVER MAIL. The Niagara is due at Auckland this morning from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva, with passengers, mails, and cargo. She is timed to leave the northern port to-night for Sydney, where she is due on Friday night. KIA ORA HOMEWARD BOUND. The Kia Ora, en route from Bluff to London, cleared Teneriffe on September 6 in continuance of her voyage. She was despatched from Bluff on July 29. PERSONAL ITEMS. Captain H. H. Dryden, after being ashore for souk? time on sick leave, has rejoined the Tcfua. Mr W. J Freeman, who has been on holiday, has now joined the Waihora as second officer, relieving Mr J. Hare, who has been granted holiday leave. Mr C. Callis, purser- of the Maori, has left the vessel, and Mr T. F. Direen has joined in his stead. Captain T. Powell is in command of the Pinna, which is due at Wellington to-day from Singapore and Auckland. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. The Trefusis will be due at Auckland on October 3 from Now York, and will later visit Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Trewyn is to sail from New York on September 15 for Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. She should reach New Zealand about October 20. The Trevose is to leave New York on September 30 for Auckland, Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. STEAMERS DELAYED AT AUCKLAND. Waiting a settlement in the seamen’s strike, the steamers Waimana and Matakana and the Benecia are at present anchored in the stream at Auckland The first-named vessel is fully loaded for New Yorls) Boston, and London, while the Matakana and Benicia have cargo for discharge at southern ports The other steamers affected by the strike are the Zinal, now undergoing inspection in' the dock, and the Kent, which is under repairs at the King’s wharf. WEST NIVARIA FROM PACIFIC COAST. An arrival at Dunedin on Saturday morning was the steamer West Nivaria, a unit of the Swayne and Hoyte Line’s fleet. The vessel came from Pacific Coast ports, via Auckland and Lyttelton, and was berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge a large quantity of general cargo case oil, and timber. Tho West Nivaria loaded her cargo st Portland, • Aberdeen, Seattle, Tacoma. Vancouver, and San Francisco, and sailed finally from the last-named port on August I. Fine weather, with favourable winds, was experienced for tho greater part of tho trip, the steamer making an excellent passage of just under 25 days to Auckland. Captain J. Fritsch is in command, and has the follo'jdng officers associated with him;—Chief, Mr E. E. Phillips; second, Mr F. N. Troupe, third, Mr J. Kristcnsen; chief engineer, Mr A. Gardner; first assist ant, Mr R. George; second assistant, Mr C. Lappas; third, Mr Heckel; wireless operator, Mr W. C. Young; chief steward, Mr A. B. Johnson. Tho West Nivaria will sail about Friday next for Sydney, where the remainder of her freight will be discharged. DISPOSAL OF CYRENA WRECK. The ultimate disposal of the Cyrena has not yet been decided upon, says a northern exchange. It is quite probable that the wreck will be broken up by an explosion and left for the sea to complete its demolition. A resident who is interested in the welfare of the Wanganui Harbour has suggested that the wreck be allowed to drift alongside tho seat wall and so support to the structure. SAILING SHIPS TO BE SCRAPPED. News received by the English mail states that many well-known sailing vessels, which were for many years engaged in tie Australian trade, have passed into the shipbreakers’ hands, and are now being broken up. The first, vessel mentioned is the fine old four-masted barque Hafrsfpord, which was formerly known as the General Roberts, and was last in Melbourne with a cargo of timber from the Baltic. The Finnish school ship Glenakd, which was at Sydney last year with a cargo of salt irom Sharpness. The barque Gaudelonpe, ex Valdivia, for many years a constant trader from Liverpool to Sydney and Newcastle. The barque Holthe, ex Bankbnrn, one of the Bank Line. The famous old barque Scottish Lassie, built by Halls, of Aberdeen, in 1887, was one of the regular traders from London to Newcastle 20 years ago. ( The iron ship Milverton, built by Oswald Mordant and Co., Southampton, in 1886, was at Newcastle last year, when she loaded coal for the West Coast.
