THE TEXTILE TRADE
OWNERS DESIRE A STRIKE. DAILY HERALD’S ALLEGATIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 4. The Daily Herald says in an editorial: “The Government appointed a court of inquiry for the mining dispute when it knew that the miners would not participate, but it failed to order an inquiry into tlie wool trade lock-out. Is the Government nervous about what a wool inquiry would reveal? Are Ministers aware that the woollen trade employers want a stoppage, in the hope that it will last some time, because they have heavy stocks of wool, bought before the recent drop in prices, and their only hope of recouping themselves is for prices to rise again I” A. and N.Z. Cable.
